I love Apple Cider, it's my one of my all time favourite holiday drinks! However I hate the pre-packaged stuff, I think they have a weird chemical taste. Not yummy at all, am I right? So I've come up with a super easy and delicious recipe to make at home!
You should already have most of these ingredients, if not all of them, in your kitchen. Here's what you need:
Throw all of your ingredients into a pot and bring to a boil. Once cider reaches a full boil reduce to medium heat and simmer until cinnamon sticks open, about 10 minutes.
- 6 cups of apple juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3 cloves
- Peel off of 1 small orange
- 1 small handful of fresh or dried cranberries (optional)
- 1 apple cut up (optional)
Throw all of your ingredients into a pot and bring to a boil. Once cider reaches a full boil reduce to medium heat and simmer until cinnamon sticks open, about 10 minutes.
A sure fire way to tell if your cider is ready is by smell, once the steam stops smelling like apples and starts to smell more like cinnamon you know your cider is ready!
I hope you enjoy this recipe! Let me know if you try it and if you like it.
